Each year the SAVA Research Team convenes for a Sites of the Socialist Anthropocene joint fieldwork trip in order to visit relevant art collections, meet with local experts, art practitioners and communities, as well as to conduct situated research at sites of extraction. Researchers observe transformed landscapes and encounter spaces of ecological resilience that flourished under socialism.
