Maja and Reuben Fowkes were invited to give the keynote presentation at the Symposium on Embedded Art History in a Burning World at Sodertorn University in Stockholm on 15 October 2024. Their presentation was entitled ‘”Forests without Shade and Lakes without Water”: Short Circuits of Developmentalism in the Socialist Anthropocene.”
